Blanco Canada Inc. offers clean, modern and beautifully designed sinks and faucets, as a leader in their industry. Blanco requested that Arc & Co. Design Collective help them feature their new sink colour, Concrete, for the Interior Design Show (IDS) 2019). Achieved by realizing a new exhibit structure to pair an updated version of their current booth (also conceived by Arc & Co.). Furthermore, Blanco desired a re-imagined media kit, accommodating a USB and small sample of silgranit in their new colour – concrete.

Ideation surrounded concrete – the material – as well as the colour. Developing a structure resembling the actual material would bring the colour to life, with more emotional and weight and three-dimensional presence. Large boulders cradled by a clear acrylic base was lifted on thin metal rods. It was an impossibly weightless, monolithic form, explorative of juxtapositions – masculine & feminine, rough & refined, heavy & weightless. The media kit was designed to mirror the balancing act of the new campaign structure, with a lid not only inspired, but physically made of the concrete. Blanco Canada was extremely pleased with the results of the structure and new media kits, delighted with the representation of their concrete coloured sinks.
