Fresh Home Elements, an already successful brand in their field, approached Arc & Co. Design Collective to produce a new structural packaging for their sub-brand Kvell. As a sub-brand, Kvell had the goal of expanding its market to a different age-group, with a more urban lifestyle. The packaging would focus on flat-pack, easy to assemble furniture. The product itself (the furniture) was quite heavy, so accommodations would need to be introduced for the weight of each piece. Finally, instructions for product assembly would have to front the graphic application.

The solution was to implement systematic methodologies that showcased the brand philosophy – to be the new leader for home organization, with style and ease. Therefore, creating a step-by-step instructional reveal throughout the unboxing practice would be the ideal way to simplify building processes, and develop a sense of discovery. In tandem with the Kvell’s in-house design team, a system was crafted to enable easy assembly. The look and feel achieved a hint of urban chic with its clean lines and bold colours, grabbing attention of the new target audience. The product was a packaging design that attracted audiences outside of their previous capacity.
